The School Pedagogy

Before discovering the real bases on which is based the pedagogy of the Jardin des Capucines, it is important to be aware of the mains objectives of this school ; the education of freedom as well as the children blossom are very important. The Jardin des Capucines aims to help the child to grow up, to socialize, to conquere its independency and to acquire a broad range of knowledges.
It is about a educational and pedagogical project which would only find its meaning with the whole support of the families.

The socialization during one day and the discovery of the life in group.

The Montessori work and the importance of the control of didactic materials with a view to an indirect preparation to the writing, lecture and mathematics.
Exercices of the daily life :
Activities linked to the daily life of the child such as pouring water, clean the table, to water plants, screw, unscrew, to open and to close boxes, decant seeds...
By repeating these exercices your child will progressively learn to coordinate its gestures and, then, refine them.
To do so, he will develop an accurate motivity and coordinate its gesture so as to prepare the hand to the writing.
Through these activities, the child will also learn to concentrate and to work on his own.

It is by manipulating things such as the pink tower, the brown stairs, the colour boxes, the cylinder-shaped boxes, the builder's triangle, amongst other, that the child will move from the perception step to the comprehension one.

The small groups in the classrooms implie a real personalized approach as well as a truly psicological and social follow-up of the child. The groups are also heterogeinous so as to bring the possibility for the child of growing up with youngers and olders than him. The pedagogy of the Jardin des Capucines allows a slow progresión of learning where the child is free but guided and accompagnied. This method encourages the development of the child responsability and develops the pleasure for learning. The children are, consequently, in a calm atmosphere where they can exchange, listen, share, and help one another. This harmonious atmosphere contributes to an healthy development of the child, to its well-being, and to its bloosming.
